Therapeutic Interventions for Psychosis Lab
Dr. Michael W. Best, PhD.
Our research group is focused on understanding factors associated with distressing symptoms of psychosis and pathways through which these symptoms create difficulties in everyday life for people experiencing psychosis. A primary focus of our work is developing and evaluating treatments for psychosis to reduce the distress associated with symptoms and improve quality of life. Primarily we conduct research studies on cognitive behavioural therapy and cognitive remediation for psychosis. We are working to identify the specific elements of these treatments that are most likely to be helpful for participants and to identify what individual characteristics make it most likely that someone will benefit from a specific treatment.
